Hefeweizenboy (2), Merrillville, Indiana, USA does not count Nov 5, 2007 This is the beer that turned me inot a beer geek. I do not care what others think, Ayinger is the best! I am also a hefeweizen fanatic, so I am a little biased. weisinator (66), USA May 9, 2003 I'm very impressed with this beer. The color is a little light, but the flavor makes up for that. adsti3 (29), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 15, 2002 Perhaps the best Weiss I’ve had. A perfect balance of tartness and wheat flavor, absolutely superb with food and packs a decent punch too. Perm (132), Tryon, North Carolina, USA Apr 7, 2008 Appearance: Cloudy to a "T." Nice, solid white head. Lovely tan colour, very opaque even though not dark.
Aroma: cloves, banana, grass, chamomile, very light cardamom. Nice balance of aromas.
Taste: Textbook without being industrial. Grass, banana, clove, and peach. Very refreshing.
Palate: What can I say? Near-perfect all the way down.
Overall: Lovely hefeweizen, one of the best I’ve had. As stated above, classic and textbook without being industrial or boring. PERFECT with grilled bratwurst and sauerkraut.
mikey (319), farmington, Utah, USA Jun 18, 2005 Poured a Deep, cloudy gold with a tight, creamy white head. The nose was of wheat, banana and clove. The taste started with malty wheat off the top. Cloves and nuts follow. The end had a banana creaminess with and citric tartness below. The finish was spicey and peppery. This beer is very refreshing. I like to pour a pint then swish around all the yeasty goodness left in the bottle. Highly recommended, especially if you like hefe-weizens.
