Commercial Description:
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

on tap. pours a cloudy dark yellow with a nice 11/2 finger fluffy white head. aroma is wheat and malt with banana and a touch of clove. has a medium body with good lacing and just right carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger. it also has a creamy mouth-feel to it. a very good hefe and maybe better that weinstephaner because it is not overly carbonated.

May 2007 - Cloudy straw color, nice bubblegum and what aroma. Thick, thick wheat base...I really like that! Lots of bubble gum and clove, but neither overdone. The only knock was that it was a bit overcarbonated.

[Bottle, thanks Guerde] Pours hazy orange with a big, white head. At first the aroma is completely dominated by yeast with banana more of a role player than the star. As it warmed, the banana did become more evident. The taste is banana up front, then yeast with a bit of a grain. Medium-thick mouthfeel. Finish is decent with banana and grain. Overall it is fairly good, but didn’t overly impress. I’m not sure on how old this bottle is though, and I’m sure the trip over from Germany doesn’t help it. Would like to try this fresh some time.

(bottle) Pours a light golden with a large white head. Aroma is initiially very yeast dominant, and only upon warming do I get the faint scent of banana and clove. Taste is somewhat lacking, with light banana and lemon with a very yeasty finish. The mouthfeel is medium, with a short finish. Not bad, but definitely not that great.

Nice head, easy pour. Very spicey, great estered nose of clove, fruit and a hint of banana. This is one of the most authentic Bavarian wheat beers available in Oklahoma.

Bottle. Golden yellow with a huge, white fluffy head. Hazy with the yeast pour at the end. Wonderful nose of spices, yeast, lemon, zest, carbonation. Light hoppiness with a tangy, yeasty, spicy, full mouth. One of, if not the best, hefeweizens. Great beer for hot, humid, sticky Houston summers (and 80F Feburary days too!!).

Poured a hazy medium golden color with a thick, creamy white head and some lacing. Wonderful aromas of spice and banana, with hints of citrus and vanilla. Flavors of wheat and lemon, along with other light fruits. Very good.

500 ml. bottle poured into scored Paulaner weizen glass. Cloudy yellow/amber with a moussy white head. Bready and wheaty aroma with the banana/clove yeast and some mustiness as well. Rich and classic German HW flavors- creamy bready/wheaty malts, spicy yeast and a mild lemony tartness. Lively carbonation, full unfiltered palate. Seems like a classic model of the style.
