Commercial Description:
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a weizen glass. This hefeweizen poured a tradional cloudy, golden color with a fizzy, off-white head that slowly faded away. Some very faint lace was left around the glass. The aroma of this beer was made up of grassy lemon, wheat malt, with some light banana notes. The flavor consisted of very faint spice and banana notes, and also some light citrus. The mouthfeel was light-bodied and very crisp. Almost champagne like as mentioned in the description. This was a nice hefe, but the flavor was a bit boring and more restrained than I would have hoped for.

Dark brown colored, medium sized yellow head. Strong sweet banana in aroma, mildly grainy that makes some diference to lighter weizens. Medium bodied. Flavor is strongly sweet also with banana, yeast and grains come up too. Sweetness still in aftertaste, too sweet for my taste.

Aroma is spicy and yeasty. Poured a hazy gold color with about a half-inch head. Tastes of citrus, yeast, cloves. Bubbly, but not overwhelmingly so. Very smooth, with almost no aftertaste. My favorite hefe so far.

From a 500 ml bottle purchased in Salt Lake City at the State Liquor Store this poured a very attractive cloudy golden color with a fantastic fluffy white head that hung on forever. Nose is banana and wheat and floral. Nice clean mouthfeel. Flavor is very complex, with fruits, cloves, and yeast. Great finish for a hefe, and good to the last drop. Best hefe ever.

Pretty good hefe. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a nice fluffy white head. Tastes like wheat and bananas and malt. Smooth finish and watery taste. Not too bad.

500ml bottle, beautiful golden straw color cloudy, nice big white head, smells of fruit, banana, lemon, apples, wheat, very tasty indeed, good carbonation, very good beer overall, better than a lot of others in the same style.

nice gold with a big dense jelly head. strong aroma of bananas, lemons, and cloves with a light apple, hay, and flowers. medium light viscous body. the herbs and cloves really come through and the fruit is not as prominent, but definitely still there. some bread notes and a very smooth malt background. well rounded, smooth, very powerful but not heavy

6/30/07 On Draught at the Seattle International Beerfest. Aroma is sour malt forward, wheat, peppery with some plasticy esters that are not objectionable for some reason. Appearance is cloudy straw yellow with a low white head. Flavor is sweet bubblegum, clovey with orange with a clean finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a slight starchiness. Overall, this is a great complex beer that is surprisingly easy drinking for all the flavor packed in.
