Commercial Description:
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

Bottle. I didn’t have many notes for this beer other than the aroma was bready and had hints of banana, apple and pear. Nicely carbonated with a foamy head. light body. classic hef

Bottle. Cloudy pale straw color, high white head and mild carbonation. Buttery wheat aroma with slight lemon zest, just a hint of hops detected. Tingly plate with a sticky filmy feel. The filmy feel coincides with a soapy flavor. A lemony soap taste kind of like the dish detergent my wife uses. Germans might love to tout the the purity law, but quality control was lacking on this weisse.

Nose of cereal & grain, subtle fruit. Pours a cloudy straw. The nice cascade resolves itself into a super colossal white uber creamy and mega stiff head that is fully lasting, and leaves light lace. The light flavor is malty but not overly so. The light body is very creamy and soft.

Bottle in Franziskaner glass. Pours beautiful pale, cloudy yellow/orange with lasting dense white head. Aroma is citrus, banana and vanilla-like sweetness. Very refreshing and assertive flavors of banana, vanilla, tartness, and spiciness. Medium-light body with medium carbonation. Excellent example of this style IMHO. Had this again 4/11/08. Deserves more ovall points. Awesome.

Tap: Lively hazy yellowish pour with an initially large frothy white head. Very yeasty aroma with wheat hints. Sharp carbonation, with a nice wheat malt character, and some sweet banana notes. A decent Hefeweizen; good session beer.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy yellow color with a thick creamy white head. The aroma is a yeast fruit almost banana like, very nice one the nose. Wow fruit jumped out to my taste buds, but still had a nice bready yeast and sour bite that is common to hefe! I adore this one.

color is cloudy yellowwith a tall fluffy white head. aroma is yeasty wheat malt, merangue, and banana. flavor is mostly sweet wheat malt and banana, yeasty, dusty, and lightly tangy too. spice is faint like a pinch of cardamon. good for it’s style.

Rated 1/17/06: Cloudy deep-golden yellow as it pours into my glass, high carbonation with a consistantly thin head and ample lacing. I allowed this one to breathe for a bit and was rewarded with the most aromatic hefe that I’ve tried to date. Refreshing aroma of fruits and spices with a more moderate amount of the typical "banana" flavor associated with hefe’s. As I sipped on this one I was rewarded with a well balanced wheat beer. Just like the aroma all of the nice flavors blended together and complimented each other. No dominant aspect with this one, a truly remarkable hefe-weizen.
