Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Bottle from Bevmo.... Dark dark brown with one finger head that fades to nothing. Probably would have gave a 4 or 5 on appearance if the head stuck around. Smells like rootbeer, licorice and some booze... Taste is more of the same, sweet and finishes nice.. Very good beer I’m glad I picked this one up

Dark pour, nice head and lace. Big malty alcohol out front, with a candy caramel or chocolate flavor rushing in. Low carb, but is almost a stout, very dark and thick, a liquid chocolate bar. Yum! Much, much better on tap than the bottled version.

Bottle - Bottle Barn in SR. Very dark beer with a slight deep red tint. Bready, smoky chocolate aroma. Bland start, but stronger finish. Not much carbonation. Smooth, with tastes of burnt coffee, chocolate, and slight sweet fruit. Good beer.

On tap at Winking Lizard. It starts with the amazing aroma that smells of chocolate with slight floral hints. The head is fantastic as it pours a nice dark brown. Tastes incredibly balanced with a bit of sweetness, but the highlight is how smooth it goes down and the incredible finish. May be the best beer I’ve ever had. Re-rated on 6/1/09: from Taphouse Grille in Bellevue.

I had high expectations for this beer, but I found myself somewhat dissappointed. It’s a muddy-brown color with a lot of bread on the nose. Malty. Texture is very light with a burnt coffee component and a dark chocolate finish. The flavors seem balanced, but they aren’t my favorite. There is also a stale feel to it that bugs me. This is my first Dopplebock - maybe I should avoid the style.

Poured from a 33cl bottle from Redmonds in Dublin. Very dark brown appearance with some ruby hints here and there-very little lacing and head. Smell is mixture of brown sugar, malts, chocolate and spicey bread. It’s a nice mix. Tastes like it smells-a nice mix of flavors that is complex and changes throughout each sip. Overall it is well balanced in its mix of tastes I think and not too overwhelming. Very smooth for the amount of taste that is going on. I only bought one so that is where I stopped, but I’d consider having more than one of these in a session even with the 6.7% ABV. I’ll definitely try to get my hands on one of these again and recommend it to others.
