IPAGargoyleGuy (139), Troy, NY, New York, USA Mar 18, 2009 Roasted and creamy with a nice creamy texture. More IPA-like than I was expecting. Smoky coffee and fruity flavors make this an extremely interesting, and fantastic beer. RasterMaster (120), , Oklahoma, USA Mar 15, 2009 Only two bottles available in the store! Dark brown pour into thin foamy tan head that dissipates quickly. Sticky lacing that melts around the rim of the glass hangs on throughout. Aroma of dark roasted malt and smoky citrus with a lingering hoppiness. Initial flavor of full-bodied roasted chocolate malt fading into a lingering creamy mouthfeel. Finish is a dry, almost oily smoky finish. dkingsella (85), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 13, 2009 Pours a dark amber with a short lived brown head. Nice malt and dark fruit flavors both in the nose and flavor. A very nice doppelbock. Case (29), Germany Mar 12, 2009 Pours a dark-red black with a medium-sized brown head. Strong aroma of burnt roasted malts, brown sugar and a very faint whiff of hops. Taste is burnt, slightly smoky and bitter-sweet. Light hop bitterness, black coffee, plums and raisins and bitter chocolate. Highly drinkable, goes down very easy. Slightly creamy texture, alcohol not noticeable. A complex and well-balanced not-too-sweet doppelbock.Plus you get a neat little plastic bock with every bottle. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 11, 2009 Bottle from jessup plaza. Poured a deep red color with a nice big light brown head that lasted awhile. Aroma is caramel, brown sugar, dates, figs, and some caramel. Taste is quite nice, very light on the palate with some chocolate notes, roasted malt, with a nice chocolate/coffee after taste. Very complex and good. milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Mar 10, 2009 On tap at the 51st Street Speakeasy in OKC. Pour is a deep red amber with a light brown head. Aroma is a potent mixture of brown sugar, dark fruits (prunes, figs, plums) and roasted coffee. Flavor is equally as complex with roasted malt, caramel, dark toffee, black licorice, a pumpernickel bread. Mouthfeel is heavy and oily. Quite the complex beer, but delicious nonetheless. jebb12 (39), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Mar 9, 2009 What more can I add about Celebrator - its one of a kind and well lauded as it should be. Thick but not among the thickest, dark but amber or brown more than black. The head is thin and on the light side of carbonation. The flavor is complex, different with each sip, but to describe it you’d have to talk about the raisons, the roasted stout-like barley, and dark sugars without being ’sugary’. One of my staple beers that never dissapoints. downender (2537), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Mar 9, 2009 Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Dark chestnut in colour with a short-lived tan head. Aroma of prunes, caramel, molasses and doughy malts. Flavour had some fruit and chocolate to start, before roasted notes, leafy hops and a moderately sweet finish. A complex and enjoyable beer.
