Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

12oz bottle aged one year. Pours darkest brown with a medium khaki head. Lots of malt in the nose with chocolate, lager yeast, fruit, coffee and nuts. Sweet flavor up front with some oak and a touch of vanilla followed by a hoppier nutty finish. Have to try a fresh one or better yet on tap and compare.

This beer reminds me of sweet soy sauce if I drink more than one of them. As far as double bock’s go, I don’t think you can beat the Paulaner Salvator.

Pours dark brown with minimal white head. Heavy carbonation. Aroma is of malt, chocolate, caramel, candy sugar, and alcohol. Taste is of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, candy sugars, spice, and alcohol. Lingering burnt malt taste. Mouthfeel is thick and malty. One of the few doppelbocks I like.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet... Pours a deep brown color with a large tan head. Sweet, roasted malt aroma, toffee, SKOR bar. Big body, sticky, very malty. Sweet candy sugar, mixed with caramel and light chocolate. A standard by which others are measured.

Pours a medium to dark brown/mahogony. Tasted was strong malts, toast, molasses, caramel, coffee. Alcohol well hidden compared to others of this style. Awesome beer. Ornament went on the X-Mas tree.

Mahogany pour with a large off-white head, sugary and malty aroma, flavor is extremely malty, strong showing of molasses and caramel with dried fruit, perfectly balanced, very oily feel, finishes super sweet.

Unfortunately from a bottle. The aroma is still intense of dark sweet malts. Strong dark malt flavor without overpowering coffee or roastedness. Molasses, caramel, honey, and some figs.

Pours a deep reddish brown with glints of ruby. Thick cream colored head that dissipates to about ¼” and lingers Smells of molasses, coffee, with a whiff of alcohol. Smooth on the palate, almost creamy. Taste is molasses, toasted bread, coffee, very faint dried fruits, with a nice touch of hop bitterness, but very well balanced. Modest carbonation. Hint of dryness. Nice lingering touch of sweetness. Top notch!
