Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

One of the definitive doppelbocks out there - absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with retentive tan head. Aromas of molasses, grass and earthiness. Flavors of caramel, molasses, cereal grain, and a fruity note, perhaps raisin. Nice mouthfeel. This beer is all about the balance. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful dark brown with a nice thick beige head. Aroma is of lots of sweet malt, fruit (raisins?), some smoke. Flavor is that and more, balanced with just enough hoppiness. The flavor reminds me somewhat of a smoky scotch. Really subtle, well incorporated flavors. Feels creamy, maybe a bit oily on the tongue. This is a damn fine Doppelbock, best I’ve ever had. It has the sweetness and alcohol you’d expect in a Doppelbock, but it’s so nicely balanced that I could drink this all night -- probably couldn’t walk then! Love the goat hanging around the bottle neck.

12 oz bottle served in a clear pint glass. Pour was a deep, cola like brown with about three fingers of thick tan head. Nose is malt, caramel, barley, cellar, bread, and earth. Taste is exactly the same, with perhaps some light chocolate notes. This is a very tasty brew. Everything about it is delicious, and is quite sessionable.

Plutôt cuivré, mais très foncée, elle dégage des arômes et des saveurs de caramel et de chocolat, style toffe. Pratiquement opaque, elle est très bien maltée et riche. Complexe et délicieux.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. The color is a dark brown or black with a brown head. The smell is of malt and butterscotch, and a bit of a molasis flavor. The taste is of roasted malts, caramel, and molasis. This beer is a bit on the heavy side but does not put to hard over the edge. It is very flavorful and perfect for the beer drinker thats into that smoked dark taste.

Bottle. Great beer to mark my 300th rating. Pours deep brown with tan head. Lovely aroma of sweet malt, raisins. Taste is sweet malt, more rasins, nutty and light smoke. Well balanced and very smooth. Love it.

Bottle. Cola like pour. Large, foamy, brown head with a deep, ruby-brown body. Clear. Aroma of dark fruit - plum and dark cherry dominate. Chocolate and molasses also come through. Big, malty caramel and dark fruit flavor with a hint of some roast. Smooth palate - fairly soft carbonation, balanced body. Sweet, but with appropriate, balancing bitterness. Leaves a pleasant stickiness in the mouth followed by slight, warming alcohol. Overall this beer is not as big, outrageous and complex as I had anticipated, but I think it is the better for it. A great example of how a great beer doesn’t have to blow your face off with aroma and flavor. Sometimes subtleness works the best. Overall ultra smooth and very enjoyable.
