Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

The taste of this beer was very understated, and very unexpected. Bottle. It was such a smooth beer for the body, though it did have a very strong aftertaste compliments of its abv i guess. Not too much of a casual sipping beer, but would have gone better with some food. This beer seemed like it was lacking, probably a bit old, and I imagine the difference of this on draught to bottle is large. must try it.
Rerate. Bottle again. Still couldnt get in to it. It had a good balanced feel but it has a muted almost old hops taste. The flavor is not bursting, there is nothing overly unique that I taste. Hmm, I guess I’ll just have to try more.
On draught 2005 at Anam Cara. I don’t think it’s quite a fair rating, as this stuff must certainly be better in Aying. But regardless, it was HEAVILY carbonated, had the texture and body of cola and though the flavors were even, it wasnt overly flavorful.

Nice deep amber body with a moderate beige head. Malty rich aroma with lots of caramel and a hint of roastiness and nuts. Flavor is silky smooth with lots of caramel malts and a hint of fruit in the background. Finish is semi-dry and slightly sweet. Great doppelbock despite the low alcohol.

330ml bottle. Dark brown, tight dissipating head. Sticky sweet burnt malt aroma - with the alcohol it’s portwiney with dark fruits. Beatiful soft carbonation. Very complex and well balanced taste, with everything from richly roasted and burnt malt, including slight baconyness and sweet dark fruits to a gentle creaminess, and forceful, but not biting, hoppiness and yeastiness, including a little marmite. On the doppelbock front, only bettered by Curator, IMHO.

(Bottle) - Too the health of an Aussie sausage, ice cream and beer swigger! - This brew pours a thick, foamy, beige head and a deep brown body. The head doesnt dissipate for quite some time. Sweet toasted malt nose with undertones of figs. Thick and creamy texture. Frontal palate get blasted by roasted malt and slight alcohol, mid-palate suffers a cocoa and coffee surrender. Finally this encounter finishes with a slightly grainy port and raisin cream. Delicious! Many thanks to Argo for putting this delight in my hands...

Had this at the Ayinger am Platzl, Munchen, Germany 25-01-08 This was presented in the correct glass and looked an attractive beer, dark brown with a wonderful beige head and some sweet moccha on the nose. Complex in taste but lovely sweet molasses shone through as did a subtle warmth from the alcohol, the moccha comes skipping back through with milk chocolate and a dash of dark fruitiness for companionship. This was a great beer and easily one of my favourite Geman beers, althougheven this classic was soon to be ecipsed in the very next bar!

Bottled. A dark body with a brown frothy head. Almost porter-ish. Sweet aroma from prune and a smoky quiet fresh flavour.
