Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

On tap at Ayingers Speis und Trank in Munich.
Reddish/brown coloured, medium sized beige head, slight alcoholic and burnt sugar nose. Sweet malty, slight roasted coffee and chocolate aroma with notes of dried fruits. Mild spicy and alcohol notes in the finish. Served a little bit too hot but undoubtedly great brew.

Draught at Tyler’s in Durham, NC. Dark ruby brown color with ample tan head. Prominent brown sugar malt aroma. Brown sugar flavor in addition to caramel with a bit of citrus hops. Slightly sweet. Solid beer.

Dark color, hints of red. Little light brown head. Sweet caramel, malty and mildly alcoholic aroma, typical for doppelbocks. Medium to full bodied, surprisingly high carbonation. Some nuts in flavor, sweet caramel comes up strongly. Flavor ends with dry bite in tongue, bite coming from hops and carbonation.

Beer #1750. And what a nice beer. From my start at ratebeer, this was one of the highest rated beers, it’s still in the top50. And although it is brewed not too far away, I never was able to get my hands on this brew. Thanks to John (jbrus), who just had it in his cellar, I was finally able to get a good taste of the German #1 brew. Clear brown color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, oatmeal, hop, some coffee. Bitter taste, very malty, roasted again. Very good brew. But during the years, I think it is passed by some great Scandinavian and American brews. Still, a classic!

beer 58 of Summer 2006 Trip to Europe. Consumed on 7/10/06. On Tap at the Source, at the Brew Pub at Ayinger. I’ve always liked this beer, and in some ways its why my brother and I took a tour of a German brewery in German without understanding a word, in my opinion Beer is Universal, so words are just like foam that gets pushed off the top of the glass. Anyway. This beer is dark (in the context of germany) and has a nice bite. Will re-rate next time I grab a bottle.

How could you not love this malty wonder of a beer? i mean seriously. Malt cubed. I have had this numerous times and it is always amazing.

Bottle. Head is not as creamy as advertised. Very dark brown but not opaque. Rich delicious thick malt and spicy hop aroma. Smokey start to the flavour, followed by long roast, alcohol and fruit notes. Nice balanced finish of hop bitterness and dry roasted notes.

Small nice-looking dark-beige creamy head. Nearly opaque red-black body. Lovely deep sweet malty, earthy aroma. Huge, sweet taste with lots of chocolate and licorice; complex, yet harmonic. Fades into a simple, rounded finish. A beautiful beer; drinkable, yet too sweet and powerful to be drunk in any great quantity. Grows more dense as you drink it. (This rating sucks. I have to rerate this one.)
