Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Re-rate 4/17/02: Deep malt/molasses nose. Super smooth palate. Ends slightly sweet. First rating: I can't believe that they got so much flavor in one bottle. Hmmmm...

This beer starts out with a burnt fruit aroma, it smells a bit sweet. Dark brown to black in color. Supprisingly not as sweet as the aroma would suggest. A subtle mild burnt malt taste, with alcohol evident in the finish. Predominantly malty with a bit of hop bitterness evident. A hint of burn raisin flavor in it as well.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark mahogany under a tight creamy two finger light brown head. Nice lacing remained. Thick syrupy malt aroma, very clean, with notes of tobacco, carmalized sugar, and caramel. Flavor is all malt again, with a thick roasty malt up front. Finish is lightly smoky with tobacco and light alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fine carbonation. Slightly syrupy and cloying on the finish. A good Dopplebock for sure, but not a top 50 beer in the world. Then again, that’s not anything that hasn’t been said a thousand times before.

12oz bottle. Hazy dark-brown appearance; khaki head with large bubble formation, maintained around the perimeter; attractive lacing. Aroma shows plenty of raisins, caramel and sugar. Sweet, medium-size mouthfeel: plenty of caramel and candy sugar, raisins and roasted malts; a light, toasty quality on the finish, maybe some smoke. I remember this being far more satisfying on tap.

Tried at an Old Chicago and thought it one of the best on their menu. Malty. Chocolate. Very good.

Bottle, rerate

Pours a lush brown with amber highlights. Nice head and spotty lace. Aroma is molasses and a touch of plum, with some definite red wine in their as well. Flavor is a touch of smoke, candy, chocolate, and a bit of java. Palate flows smoothly. A bit pricey, but worth it. Nice beer.

Bottle. Pours deep redish brown with a medium beige head. Deep roasted -almost smoked - malt aroma, but not very complex or interesting. Smooth mouthfeel. A bit sweet in the flavour, with low bitterness. A disappointment.

Nice raisons, malt and syrup aroma. Black body with hints of red, big frothy head. Malt, plums, spicy and caramel taste. Full mouth long lasting spicey finish. Nice, yes nice
