Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

[bottle] Pours a deep ruby red with a very thick tan head that left beautiful lacing all the way down the glass. Rich and full aroma, mainly sweet malts with a slight soapy floral hint underneath. Roasted malt flavor at the start that goes sweet in the middle and gives way to a nice roasted/bitter coffee finish. Hops abounded throughout the entire body. The head was wonderfully creamy and silky and combined wonderfully with the body. [[200th Rating]]

Jewel like deep red color when held to the light. Dark sweetness of raisin, molasses, sherry and brown sugar without any harsh flavors. Very well balanced. Great double bock.

The color is among the darkest Doppelbocks I have seen: deep ruby with dense, beige foam. Very soft and elegant mouthfeel. Aroma is plums, candied yams, rum, and fruit cake. So richly malty it’s beyond my grasp. Exquisite flavors of plums, creamed coffee, and an addictive burnt bitterness. The finish is long and complex. Not as good as I once thought, but a solid, readily available fallback.

My favorite doppelbock. Very rich and malty, almost like candy (caramel?). Thick and chewy, but remarkably easy to drink - goes down smooth. Of all dark and heavy beers, this one makes a great introduction to the style for the novice (albeit in the sink or swim mentality). It was my first double bock and remains my favorite.
