Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

33cl bottle. Dark brown with a creamy tan head that leaves an oily film. The aroma is pretty sweet and roasty, with some dark fruits, like prunes and chocolate. Roasted malts and burnt sugar in the flavor. Not overly rich as my previous experiences with doppelbocks led me to anticipate. Drinkable and balanced, but thin in the mouth as well. Pretty solid, but not quite up to expectation.

Finally got hold of a bottle of this and was not disappointed. Reddish brown with a lovely fine, tall head. Big malt aroma of chocolate, caramel, cookies and cake, liqourice; slightly minty. Sweet chocolate and caramel flavor, woth a touch of smoke and a surprisingly bitter roasted finish. Has a perfectly smooth, soft mouth. A very unique and interesting bock!

I really enjoyed this beer. My first experience with a Dopplebock, and I was highly impressed.

Pour blackish red with a thick off white head. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, roasted malt. Taste is very balanced, smooth roasted malt, not cloying. Goes down very smooth with a clean aftertaste, maybe a hint of roasted malt in the back of the throat. You have to try this just ever so slightly chilled to get a lot of aroma and smoothness out of this. Unbelievably, I have never rated this beer in all the years I have been drinking it (many a four pack has come and gone, with me saying "whoops, forgot to rate it again". I have also had this on tap at the Ayinger Speis und Trunk in Munich during Starkbier St. Josephs Day and it was fabulous (and strong). If you ever get to Munich in March, you must try this to taste the subtle differences between the bottle and the tap version (I’d note them, but my beer notes were indecipherable from that trip). The best beer of that trip.

Quite dark and thick. Had a smooth taste while still retaining the kick of a doppel.

This dopplebock rocks. Pours deep dark brown w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Superb hangtime w/ textbook residual lacing. Aromas of moderately roasted malts, leather, cocoa, and dark fruits. Malty w/ a moderate roasty character. Flavors of mother earth, leather, cocoa, roasted coffee bean, and some dark plumby nuances all integrated w/ a mild sweetness factor. Well ballanced with BIG flavors to the last sip. Very complex. You get all the hops, alcohol (well hidden), sweet steak, and density balanced perfectly. Goes down smooth. Highly recomended.

12 oz bottle pours a dark amber brown with a nice sized beige head that laces all the way down. As it warmed the flavors and aromas began to emerge more as chocolate, brown sugar, malt, and carmel. Nothing too strong but very nicely balanced with a super creamy mouthfeel that is almost chewy and buttery. The corners are rounded out with a few hints of smoke, spice, and alcohol. A very well balanced and executed dopplebock but in being balanced it lacked the intensity and off balance that i was hoping for.

bottle from mgermani, thanks! ok, first off this is liquir bread! yum!! Wow, does this pour dark, easily the darkest doppelbock i have ever seen, its looks like a porter or stout. Aroma is moderatly malty, with a sweet cherry to it. Flavour is ALL MALT. like a fresh baked loaf of bread, its so malty, i can almost chew that loaf of bread. I love this! the finish is so caramely, and sweet with a great bready aftertaste. LOVE IT!
