Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Whoo! That’s some powerful stuff. Pours an impenetrable brown like Tootsie Rolls. Sweet aroma of dark fruits and burnt caramel/brown sugar. Nose is huge; it’s almost satisfying enough just to sit and sniff. Thick and chewy mouthfell, with very malty flavors. Quite warming, but alcohol is somewhat hidden by toasted bread, caramel, and a pleasant hoppy dryness that keeps it from being sticky. Big, balanced, and dangerous.

Stunningly beautiful deep red color. Roasted, with a hint of ash, yet sweet and a little fruity aroma which rolls through the mouth leaving a lasting finish. No sign of the alcohol what so ever, deceptive stuff. This has been my personal favorite for years, and still remains on top.

Very dark reddish brown in color. There is not much of a head and what little there is disappears quickly. This beer is extremely complex, every mouthful offers different nuances. Roasted nuts, chocolate, maple, caramel, coffee and so on! The mouth feel is full, rich and creamy. This is a super delicious beer and it get better as it warms up, just when you finish it. It makes me feel like starting all over again and sometimes I do! I love this beer!!!

I think the commercial description says it all. It is truly a great dopplebock. I also find hints of chocolate and caramel in it. It is very dark in color, very black with just a faint ruby color, allowing very little light to pass through and a ruby tan thin head that stays. I would definitely recommend this beer to anyone with a taste for fine beer. I cant wait to get some more, the best dopplebock by far, very silky smooth from start to finish. very light bodied. Found it at the Cork N’ Bottle in covington, KY.

Man, this one was good from the huge head obtained on pouring til the last drop with a small and respectable head remaining. I can’t wait for my next Munich business trip, so I can stop by Aying and get a fresh one. Excellent dark brown color with a sweet stout type aroma, even some yeast detectable? Flavor is outstanding, fairly sweet malty and figgy type taste which finishes with a touch of a burnt or coffee type taste. Alcohol was detectable for sure, but not overpowering. Has a nice hop balance, almost perfect for the sweetness and level of alcohol. The smooth and creamy mouthfeel was impressive. June ’06 re-rate on draft at Half Moon: I don’t have to bump the numbers, but I didn’t detect any yeast or coffee flavors. Dark fruits are solid and there is some chocolate character in the malts of this one. Very smooth and the mouthfeel is full, and this finishes with a slight touch of bitter hops, even some grassy notes. The bread character is subdued under all of the dark fruit and chocolate melanoid action, but it’s there. A really fine production. Re-rate, Sept ’06, horizontal vs. Andechser, Maximator, Liberator, Consecrator, Bajuvator, hands down the class of the style, by far the most complex, dark and light fruits both mixed in, chocolate, v. light coffee, great grass hops balance, just wonderful, not too sweet, despite the aroma. World class, the best of the style by a significant step vs. the other nice examples from this style.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this world-class beer? For me the taste and the mouthfeel really held my attention. I have never before experienced such an amazing, dry, malt sweetness that is present in the finish of this beer. I actually loved the fact that I could taste virtually no hops. There was zero bitterness. The sweetness is the furthest thing from cloying, it’s amazing. Re-Rate: This is a fantastic beer that is near perfect in every way, however, now that I have had it several more times I wanted to adjust my rating. I had it at a 5. This is one of the best beers that I’ve ever had, and it’s amazing how easy it is to find.

Wonderful beer. Great color and aroma. Flavor is sweet, but not overly sweet, and very complex. A definite must-have!
