Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Searched hi and low for this one. And it was well worth it. Found it @ Eulogy in philly. Fruity aroma with a fantastic finish.

Beautiful dark pour with an almost perfect nutty head. Roasted flavors dominate this dopplebock: chocolate, vanilla; while amazing traces of nutty-banana flavor blend nicely with the aftertaste. Very malty! It’s like drinking a dessert.

This is the first Doppelbock I have really liked. It poured very dark like an Imperial Stout. The head is very creamy and resembles the St. Bernardus 12. The aroma was fruity, chocolate, malty and with hops. I’m not someone who knows about malts. There were certainly a variety here. There was basically raisin, chocolate, malt and berries in the taste. The sweetness of this beer was great. If you want a great beer experience, pair this with the Schneider Aventinus. I recommend that combination.

Pours a dark brown with a small head. Strong hints of chocolate, caramel and a nutty aftertaste. Finishes as well as it starts. Looks oily in the glass. This is by far the best dopplebock I’ve had to date.

Bottled 33cl. 6.7 ABV. Expiry date april 2004. Aged example. Appearance: It pours an almost black beer with ruby reflects. Creamy beige head. Good retention. Beautiful lacework. Aroma: Wonderful nose. Malty, woody and buttery with hints of brown sugar, plums, dark chocolate, mince pies, seaweed, chestnut purée and honey. Very complex and strong with an outstanding smoky component. Faintly salty. Excellent. Flavor and palate: Sweet malty taste with chestnut purée, honey, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, candy floss, brown sugar and seaweed showing up. Full bodied. Slightly salty. Low bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Perfectly balanced. There is a sublime smokiness in the taste as well. Pumpernickel sneaking in. Some alcohol appearing with the swallow. Spicy buttery finish with lingering chestnut purée. Overall impression: Flawless. Extremely pleasant and complex. Sublime. Perfect. Thanks a lot bov for giving me this beer!

[bottle @ Bukowski’s] Pours a super dark brown color, with the perfect head. Flavors are molasses, toffee and dark malts. Extremely smooth. This is one of the best.

A little sticky for me. I loved everything else about this beer. Nice head, complex, yeasty, fruity and spiced. Just a great beer. Food anyone?
