Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

This is among the best dark lagers available. It never disappoints. Dark, Malty, not too sweet, nice head. Among the best beers in the world.

Celebrator Double Bock pours to a deep, black ruby color with a nice tan head, and a good carbonation. The nose is just fantastic. This beer is just jam packed with malt aromas and flavors. Big aromas of sweet malt and toastiness marry with some peppery hints of alcoholic strength. The palate is a rock solid malt back bone. Flavors of sweet malt, toast, and nuts coat the tongue. The body is very round and clean. This beer seems a bit more hefty in the bottle, I was amazed how smooth this beer was on draught, you would not think you were drinking a beer with an abv of about 7-9%. Celebrator finishes with more sweet malt character up front, then ends with a gentle, warming burn. Really a fantastic double bock, really a great showcase of sweet malt flavors and aromas. This beer would work well with hearty German fare, it works well with the sweet and sour flavors of saurbraten. This would also make an excellent match for desert. I would pair this with a nice slice of German chocolate cake, or stollen. More often than not, I usually don’t match this beer with food, double bocks make excellent after dinner drinks, or night caps.

This beer is my all time favorite and must be drunk fresh, which is hard to find in the US. I have only found one location in my area that pours draft and this makes a dramatic difference. I was also fortunate enough to drink a few at the Ayinger restaurant/bar in Munich. This experience had me liking this beer even more as the flavors were so much more distinguished and was one of the most enjoyable things I have done with clothes still on. If you have never drank this beer and have had other Doppelbocks that you did not like, give this one a try, just make sure the supplier has stored the beer correctly and goes through enough supply to keep the inventory as fresh as possible. This beer pours with a dark brown head, if fresh will leave lace on the glass. Stop and smell the aroma as this beer seems to change character after each whiff. Flavor also does the same as it will have a nutty flavor during one tip and on the next a chocolate flavor dominates. Very fun and enjoyable drink with many characters in one glass.

Pours a deep mahogany with a nice frothy head that dissipates slowly. Molasses, caramel and toasted malt nose. Taste is exquisite. Perfectly balanced malt, molasses, and hops. Truly a joy. It’s even better than Korbinian. Mouthfeel is outstanding. Perfect carbonation, just fantastic. Extremely drinkable, I need more of this.

I was anxious to try this one. I’ve had it put back for a while and I’m thanking myself now. Poured a beautiful dark brown, almost too beautiful to drink. But I digress. Served a bit chilled and allowed to warm some. Wonderful dark malty aroma and a taste to match. Very complex, I note chocolate, caramel, and almost a coffee smell to this fine beer. I’m being careful to only sip this because I want this to last. Finishes with a wonderful aftertaste that keeps me wanting to have more. Can’t detect very much alcohol at all, they do a good job of hiding it. To this point in my life, my favorite beer had been the Paulaner Oktoberfest. That’s all changed now. This is without a doubt the finest beer that I’ve ever had the privelege to drink. I hate to say it, but this makes everything else, including the Paulaner, pale in comparison. The only down side is that this beer is $16.00 a 4 pack!!! That’s ok, I will definitely splurge and have this again. The rest of the Paulaner that I have sadly just won’t be the same.
