Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Very nice complexity - a mix of good malt, smooth presentation, and a spice / fruit infusion, topped of by a signature doppelbock flavor.

I always keep coming back to this beer. Foamy head, rich color. A full bodied flavor with a rich, dry mouthfeel. Perfectly balanced in every way. It's amazing that this beer goes well with so many dishes. Yes, this is liquid bread. Pure heaven.

Medium body, dark dark amber pour with just a tiny little head. Smells malty, fruity. Medium bodied. At first taste I picked out figs, then onto licorice and raisin, and it's roasty the whole time. It's really all a bit odd to me but wonderfully complex. Thumbs up.

This is...an amazing beer. I thought I had rated this already earlier in the week when I had it, but somehow I forgot. I feel almost guilty for having nearly forgotten this wonderful brew.

Tan head with a very creamy foam. Deep malt aroma, very aromatic caramel smell with no hop aroma up front. A fruit nose detected upon warm-up. Dark brown to black in color leaving a lovely lace behind. Sweet chocholate dominant flavor. Alcohol on tip of tongue. Nice hop back taste with a rich full body of malt middle. Milky finish. As close to a hot fudge sunday as a beer can get. UPDATE 4/11/6: If you allow this to sit for about 90 minutes in your glass, it actually smells like CHEESE!

Nice Doppelbock. Kick the can and run me over. Dark as Lake Erie and kickn’ like coffee in the morning.

The class of the doppelbocks. Unique amongst the competition, with a more chocolate-like finish (as opposed to a sweeter, carmel-like flavor that several others of the style display). Dark, with a foamy tan head. Good lacing and retention. Every time I've done taste-tests with other doppelbocks, Celebrator wins. Long live the king!

Something special from Brooklynboy for my 200th review…thanks very much Ed you are a priest of the yeast. I have anticipated savoring a Celebrator for some time. This bottled version is pasteurized I suspect but it still does not detract from this beer’s reputation. The pour revealed a deep mahogany- red liquid with a 2 finger rocky mocha cap that reduces in it’s own sweet time to a lasting sticky lace…mild to medium carbonation. Wow what a bouquet of malts!! We have dried fruits, licorice, molasses, tangerines and a lovely musty, earthy over tone. The start is all big tasty malts with a dozen different malt/roast/hop/yeast departures that are so complex they escape my eloquence to enunciate them…a veritable orgasm of the taste buds. Rich mouth feel without being heavy or sweet...fantastic balance for a dopple bock….finish is medium with the toffee chocolate tastes receding and the hops creating a wet lasting impression of treacle and lime…then a nice warming….infinitely the best “drinkable” dopple bock in the world….Ed thanks…and more please!!!
