Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

I’ve been dreaming about this beer for I can’t say how long. Finally, got it on tap. Everything I could imagine and more. Complex enough to make my head spin.

Had my first one of these in Germany in 1981 while stationed there in the Army. Picked up a 6 pack about 5 years ago and enjoyed them over the holidays. Can’t wait to try this great beer once again. Really is a treat if you like Bock style beers. Ayinger brewery makes some other fine products. Try the Mai (May) Bock if you like Bock styles or the Pils if you are into lighter fare.

saved this beer to ’celebrate’ wings winning the cup, and boy was it worth it. Beautiful dark brown color, with rich cramy head. full bodied, very flavorful with hints of roasted caramel malt, and chocolate, wonderful aroma, a real treat.

Dark, thick and chewy! OK, not REALLY chewy, but somehow it seems chewy. Or maybe that’s because I was watching Star Wars while drinking it. It really is a wonderfully dark and tasty beer.

Sweet fruity aroma. On taste, the first impression is one of richness. The chewy fruitiness and chocolate dominate, but there’s also mild hoppiness and faint alcohol. The balance of all these flavors is truly remarkable. Warning to parents of young children: once the giant head goes down, you’re left with a beer that looks remarkably like a cola.

Delicious! It reminded me of drinking a chocolate cream pie; it had a great creamy mouthful with a sweet (but not overly so) flavor.

This is a 7.2% alcohol by volume Doppelbock. Ayinger is a ’country brewer’ located in the Bavarian town of Aying. The name Celebrator is used for ’Export’ purposes. In Germany, this beer is known as Fortunator. Pours dark with a purple/black plum color. A rich malt beer with molasses and coffee tones. Finishes dry and velvety with some warmth.

Just amazing. If you like your beer big, malty and delicious, this is a winner! Fruity and balanced perfectly. Strong while remaining tasty. A true classic.
