Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

I think it's my favorite dopplebock right now with Weltenburger Asam-bock a very close second. Very nice. Excellent dopple with a lot of complexity. Starts slightly sweet then a second later the caramel, coffee and chocolate hit. Not a sweet and strong as one like Spaten Optimator. This one is on another level of complexity. Nice lace. Lively carbonation. Has some spice to it. Rerate 021304: I haven't had this in a long time. When I saw it for $1.69, I had to buy it. My rating will not change. This is so good, I can't beleive I haven't had this more often. In addition to my review above, I taste some wood in it. It's so different from the ho bombs I like so much these days, but I like it just as much.

Toasted aroma and a bit sweet smelling. It has a strong toasted malt flavor and hops can be tasted at first but that fades. The alcohol is not hidden sort of like a good scotch the clean alcohol favor is a pleasant part of the flavor. The more I drink the more a hint of currents comes out. This is a clean mellow but extremely complex beer that only gets better the more you drink

Got in a trade with a friend. It was well worth the two bottles of old horizontal I traded her. The intial smell was amazing. Huge maltly accents with all sorts of different parts, from choclates and coffees to fruits like raisons and plums. Definitely a smoky flavor as the description claims. I really enjoyed this beer.

Had to drop the $ when I found this one today. I am impressed. This one pours with a light tan head and an appealing aroma of bread and raisins. The body is consistent and thick, with toffee, bread, and raisin flavors dominating the palate. Very sweet aftertaste finishes with a touch of bitterness. Rich, complex, and every bit worthy of its impressive ratebeer score. If there is a heaven, and it has beer on tap, Celebrator Doppelbock is among the choices.

Beautiful, chocolatey toasted malt nose; extremely fine head produces nice lacing. The complexity of flavors is beyond any other beer I've experienced. In spite of the caramel, chocolate and fruity malts it manages to finish smooth and dry without any cloying residue. Magnificent! As an afterthought I'm concerned that my Christmas Tree will be inappropriately adorned given the fact that some stock-boy stole my plastic rams.

A color as black as night, and a toasty tan head. Strong and seductive aromatics: sweet and candyish, with notes of toffee, anise, and cocoa, and a slightly burnt character that perhaps derives from the higher alcohol. Taste is huge with malt, highly warming (note the ABV), full, rich, and delicious. A perfect aperitif beer. Three things ring above all else: malt, coffee, and caramel. Solid, bold, and loaded with coffeeish flavor. One of the world’s greatest brews.

Has a nice hoppy taste mixed with a decent malt taste. Pretty expensive (3 dollars a bottle) but well worth it. Will get more and stock this one. Excellent!!!
