Commercial Description:
Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year's aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

This is pretty good stuff. I picked up some on sale at the local bottle shop. It doesn’t stand out incredibly from other Dopplebocks, but it seems to have just about the right combination of everything. Smokiness, texture, coffee flavor, and carbonation. If I had to compare this to a beer, I would probably compare this to Old Rasputin. Though I prefer this, as Old Rasputin is a tad too sweet in my opinion. This is probably the best Dopplebock I’ve had in a long time. Aroma is sweet & malty.

Tried at Stubbie’s on draft in Gainesville, FL. This is what a a Doppelbock is supposed to be! Light brown head, dark body. Tastes like applejuice and caramel. Finishes with a faint alcohol taste. Would drink again.

Dark reddish brown with a small greyish head. Aroma is fat malty and fruity with notes of nuts, bread and minerals. Body is full and very smooth. Flavour is rich malty with notes of raisins, dark bread and refreshing minerals. It ends on a dry fruity note with some warming alcohol.

Pours very dark clear ruby brown with small tan head. Aromas of toast, pear, berries, licorice, and spice. Sweet with lightly toasted chocolatey malt followed by fruit and finishing very gently with a subtle bitterness. Full bodied with a thick creamy texture and fairly gentle carbonation. Wonderfully balanced and delicious.

33cl bottle at Flatbread Burlington. Pours very dark amber with a small head. Head retention is rather short. Not much lacing. Nose is raisins, dark ripe fruits and earthy/mineral hops. Very rich and sweet. Taste is dark fruits, raisin and roasted malt. Quite sweet and rich. Finish is dry and sweet with hints of roasted malt.

12oz bottle:
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a tan head with only some lace left in the glass.
Aroma: Slightly roasted with caramel malts
Taste: Sweet roasted malts with some coffee and chocolate flavors, finishes with a spice hop.
This is a really good beer that I could easily drink a few pints.

330 mL bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake. Dark cola-like pour with an off-white head. Sweet malty aroma that really overwhelms anything else. Sweet flavor with mostly apple, pear, and raisin but also some nuttiness and a hint of chocolate. Medium bodied. Probably as good as a dopplebock gets in my opinion.

30cl on tap at restaurant. Pours a semi-translucent dark amber color with minimal head. Aroma is well balanced between spices, malt, and hops in that order. Taste is very spicy but like the aroma is well balanced with nothing too overpowering. Body is full and is active while on the palate- you can feel the carbonation. Really nice complex beer, good to combine with food.

Dopplebocks in general are not my fav, way too sweet for my taste, but I knew that this was good when I first tasted it. I kind of consider this to be more of a desert beer, i can have only one at a time, great malty sweetness but not overbearing, toasted hazlenut flavor and goes down so smooth.
