Pale yellow colour with thin white head. Fruity and Pils hoppy aroma. Slightly sweet, fruity flavour with quite dry hoppy finish. OK, quite easy beer. A bit disappointing since it’s Ayinger. I had greater expectation. leaparsons (4749), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Lemony, popcorn sulfury aroma with some herbal spiciness. Foggy dark yellow with a rocky white top that drops to a thin cover. Fairly sweet base malt quickly complimented by a pungent, herbal bitterness that is almost woody like a Belgian ale. Fruity notes come in as the beer warms and may be from hops. Less sulfur in the flavour than the aroma, but it is still an obvious component. Medium body, medium carbonation, woody bitterness lingers a bit in the finish, but makes the beer refreshing. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Sweet and malty, slight hops in the finnish, yeast... To be honest this bored the life out of me despite the warm weather that is required for this kind of stuff to work... Miksu (2232), Jyväskylä, Finland

I would best describe it as a maibock without the bock. the finish has lemons. taunusmies (277), Finland

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 11, 2008 Tapped. Minimal white head, some lace. Very blond yellow, slightly cloudy. Aromas are yeasty malts with spicy fruitness. Odour has almost faint lambic-like yeasty and malty notes. Also some bitterness in the finish. Flavor is a bit sour and has sweeter malt elements in the finish. Lively carbonation and medium body. Very well balanced and delicious beer with faint but diverse aromas and pleasant palate. I’ve always liked Ayinger beers but this was still a positive surprise.
