Bottled. A pale golden beer with a medium white head, that disappears quickly. The aroma has malty, braedy and fruty notes with some banana. The flavour is sweet, maybe too much, with a modest hoppiness and some fruity notes. Medium body and quite long sweet aftertaste. Decent and drinkable but Ayinger can do much better.

On tap at the Braueriegasthof, Aying 17 Jun 07. Served in a good-looking glass. Golden coloured. Unclear. A white creamy head that disappeared. Modest hoppy aroma. A well rounded fruity flavor. Sweet fruity aftertaste.

The Brauereigasthof in Aying had still got this seasonal beer left on tap when we visited their biergarten in the middle of June. The 500ml was served in a special frühlings glass and the pour gave a vague aroma of citric fruits. The appearance was slightly hazy golden under filmy layer. The taste was refreshing with moderate hints of sweet oranges supported by a touch of grapefruit in a short finish (17.06.2007).

Keg (Gallows Bird, Espoo) Slightly vinegary smell, not unpleasant. Tastes completely opposite - sweet, fruity and very malty. Slight taste of peas or other legumes, but not unpleasantly so. Not my style, so my ratings aren’t high, but I can imagine some beer lovers would really appreciate the formula.

Pale gold with very dense, fine, collapsing, just off-white head. Very fresh, green, even firtree-like smelling beer, just a bit grassy with malty notes. Dry, again piney-resiny beer, but with some surprisingly meaty (-estery?) notes in the finish. Rest is mainly pale malts, not much else. Light to medium bodied, high physical level of carbonation. I wonder if once, this was just called "Ayinger Export"... Whatever, it’s Ayinger quality.

(Tap) Light yellow colored, slightly cloudy appearance. Little vanishing white head. Aroma is like weissbeers: banana and mild yeast, only spiciness misses. Lemon also in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is stronger with hars hops and sweet banana, not very well balanced. Round ending with fruits and mild alcohol.
