kappldav123 (1788), Markkleeberg, Germany May 10, 2009 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts spicy, fresh, reminds me of gouda-cheese for a short moment. Yeasty-spicy finish, not too dry. Well done! JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Oct 19, 2008 Foxy-orange beer, clear, with a small cream-beige coloured head. Bottom of bottle shows scary UFO’s, but they stick to their place. Earthy-leafy nose, with some caramel apparent. Strange extra aroma, as from the frying fat from roast fowl. Leafy, earthy flavours and pretty bitterish from beautiful continental noble hops; fine and delicate and tasty at the same time. Finishing dry-bitter, and still leaving an impression of fruitiness behind. Another one with amazing balance. Warming up, this roast-fat creeps into the taste as well. Light to medium bodied, well-carbonated, slight slickness. Wow, joss, this ranks amongst the best from the already famous Ayingerbräu. Excellent beer, even bottled, wish I could taste this one from the Zwickelhahn one day. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Jan 5, 2008 Bottle. Hazy amber colour with a little head. Aroma of caramel, toffee and maltness. Flavour of malt, caramel and quite bitter/dry at the end. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Jan 2, 2008 On tap. Pours a med. amber with a long lasting white froth. Nice lacing. The aroma is freshly baked biscuits along with a really nice spicy hop note. The body is med. with a good level of CO2. The flavors are soo smooth. Lots of caramel and toast. Some spice but the malt plays the main role here. What a beer. What a condition to have it. Amazing. I wish I could brew a marzen this good. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 15, 2007 Bottle. A light hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma is of caramel malt and fruits, so is the taste. Medium body with a dry finish. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 9, 2007 From 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with light brown head. Aroma is grassy and hay, malty. Flavour is slight sour/citric and malty. Dry bitter finish. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 2, 2007 Bottle.
Hazy orange coloured with a white ehad.
Malty aroma of caramel, rye bread and fruits.
Flavour of caramel, rye bread and fruits. thewolf (5623), Kolding, Denmark Jul 2, 2007 Bottle [thanks to MoritzF and Papsoe]. Pours a muddy orange with a quite small off-white head. Some lacing. Aroma is a little weak, based on sweet malts - almost like dough. Flavour is equally mild, though well-balanced. A general malty sweetness is mixed with a good dose of caramel with a fairly hoppy end. Not much Festbier in style, but interesting.
