Commercial Description:
In October, each year we celebrate Kirta-Halbe. 1999 was a very special year because we opened our handsome new brewery and Beer Adventure on October 15, one day before Kirta-Halbe. Our Ayinger Kirta-Halbe label, by Dieter Hanitzsch shows Bavarian Minister President Dr. Edmund Stoiber with our own Bräu von Aying, Franz Inselkammer in front of the new brewery. For the opening, Mr. Stoiber addressed more than 1000 friends, customers and community leaders .

Bottle [thanks to MoritzF and Papsoe]. Pours a muddy orange with a quite small off-white head. Some lacing. Aroma is a little weak, based on sweet malts - almost like dough. Flavour is equally mild, though well-balanced. A general malty sweetness is mixed with a good dose of caramel with a fairly hoppy end. Not much Festbier in style, but interesting.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Slightly hazy, amber golden with an off-white head. Fruity and lightly caramelish nose. Medium body with lightly burned caramel notes, an initial sweetness but ends fairly bitter. An unusual but very interesting beer - and far from your typical Festbier. 290607

Bottled. A hazy orange beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet citrusy combined with notes of caramel, and so is the flavor, leading to a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle. Average rocky white head that quickly disappeared. Fair lacework. Clear flat looking body with an amber color. Aroma of bread, caramel, grain, nutty and fruity notes as well. Light toasted malty notes giving it a bit of edge. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitter notes as well. Lovely sweet and bread like finish that lasted.

Bottle (perfectly delivered by joss): Reddish-amber coloured, hazy, medium-sized off-white head; toasted malt, sweet-malt and some fruitiness in the aroma; light to medium-bodied, solid sweet-bitter flavour; becomes a bit drier towards the end: roasted malt, dried fruit and moderate hop-bitterness in the finish; almost a bit brandy-like and warming aftertaste. A goody, that reminds You of a diluted Doppelbock.....

Draught at the brewery. Red/Amber colour, good head. Malty aroma and flavour, with light bitterness, with only some herbal notes. Medium body, maybe the carbonation is not vey good, but is not a big problem. Pleasant.

(bottle, with many thanks to joss!) Hazy orange-amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Slightly dusty, sweet toast-malty , nutty aroma with a touch of honey. Initially sweet maty, toasty and nutty taste with light fruity shades, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation; dry toast-malty, moderately bitter and herbal finish with a pleasant nutty, spicy aftertaste. Nice one.

Tap at the Laupheimer brewery. Fruity pear and apple aroma, light herbal as well. Hazy, amber color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, very light bitter, light herbal, fruity (pear, lychee), medium body, little sticky.
