| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 2, 2008 On tap. Pours a med. amber with a long lasting white froth. Nice lacing. The aroma is freshly baked biscuits along with a really nice spicy hop note. The body is med. with a good level of CO2. The flavors are soo smooth. Lots of caramel and toast. Some spice but the malt plays the main role here. What a beer. What a condition to have it. Amazing. I wish I could brew a marzen this good. Enormo (25), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2004 Just wanted to rate this because I was in Aying about a month ago at a beautiful beer garden right by the old brewery. Cloudy amber color with a nice head. Somewhat like an oktoberfest, but a bit more sour. I thought this beer was different than anything I have ever had, I enjoyed it very much. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Foxy-orange beer, clear, with a small cream-beige coloured head. Bottom of bottle shows scary UFO’s, but they stick to their place. Earthy-leafy nose, with some caramel apparent. Strange extra aroma, as from the frying fat from roast fowl. Leafy, earthy flavours and pretty bitterish from beautiful continental noble hops; fine and delicate and tasty at the same time. Finishing dry-bitter, and still leaving an impression of fruitiness behind. Another one with amazing balance. Warming up, this roast-fat creeps into the taste as well. Light to medium bodied, well-carbonated, slight slickness. Wow, joss, this ranks amongst the best from the already famous Ayingerbräu. Excellent beer, even bottled, wish I could taste this one from the Zwickelhahn one day. Slayer85 (591), Firenze, Italy
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Draught at the brewery. Red/Amber colour, good head. Malty aroma and flavour, with light bitterness, with only some herbal notes. Medium body, maybe the carbonation is not vey good, but is not a big problem. Pleasant. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2007 Bottle. Average rocky white head that quickly disappeared. Fair lacework. Clear flat looking body with an amber color. Aroma of bread, caramel, grain, nutty and fruity notes as well. Light toasted malty notes giving it a bit of edge. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitter notes as well. Lovely sweet and bread like finish that lasted. jbrus (4903), Delft, Netherlands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Bottle (perfectly delivered by joss): Reddish-amber coloured, hazy, medium-sized off-white head; toasted malt, sweet-malt and some fruitiness in the aroma; light to medium-bodied, solid sweet-bitter flavour; becomes a bit drier towards the end: roasted malt, dried fruit and moderate hop-bitterness in the finish; almost a bit brandy-like and warming aftertaste. A goody, that reminds You of a diluted Doppelbock..... MoritzF (5080), Bochum, Germany

Initially sweet maty, toasty and nutty taste with light fruity shades, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation; dry toast-malty, moderately bitter and herbal finish with a pleasant nutty, spicy aftertaste. Nice one.
