glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA Apr 9, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roasted, and bisquit, light herbs for the hops, light yeast notes of leather and earth, with backround notes of butter, honey, and faint spice. Head is large, frothy, slightly off-white, with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear orange/tan. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic then finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation and finishes lightly metallic. This was a tough beer not to down in a few gulps. Great tasting and easy drinking. djd07 (721), Houston, Texas, USA Apr 9, 2009 Bottle as shown. Pours a copper golden with a large frothy white head taht lasts awhile. The aroma is a wheat malt with grain and caramel. Good sticky lacing on the glass. Thin mouthfeel with a sour taste and a sweet finish. Easy to drink, a decent marzen from Ayinger. scooterbub (332), Lander, Wyoming, USA Mar 31, 2009 500 ml bottle, but says 5.6% abv. Pours a gold color with a small, clingy, beige head that slowly fades. Taste is of caramel, malt and some hops. Similar aroma Has a good bitterness to it and is a little sweet. Has a foamy mouthfeel. Easy to drink and fairly enjoyable. Not as great as what I thought it would be. Neat looking bottle and cap. RHeastings (377), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2009 Enjoyed via 16.9oz bottle. Pours a medium to deep gold. Nose of Munich malt, and a touch of fresh-baked German dark bread. Smooth and balanced on the palate; malt up front with just a touch of balancing hops. Initial hop bitterness and flavor may be a little higher, as this example is nearly one year old. Finishes clean, just a touch flowery, and just barely on the sweet side of neutral. The quintessential German Oktoberfest beer. Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Mar 26, 2009 This guy is beautiful, with a huge long-lasting head. Unfortunately, it tastes like bread. If I wanted that, I would just eat bread. I prefer a strong, sweet malty character, this was dry and doughy. Only worth it for the bad-ass looking cap. Cole (266), , Alberta, Canada Mar 25, 2009 From the Bottle Aroma is sweet and deep very yeasty. Looks very nice. Flavor is very malty. Mouth feel is very dry and under pronounced. An interesting brew. It is cold as shit in southern Alberta right now and I think this beer would better suit the summer. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Mar 5, 2009 500 ml, 5.6% abv. Clear, burnt orange-amber with a quarter inch of frosting above. Aromas of grilled corn, sweet cherry, apple, cereal grain and hay. Flavor is caramel with a sour tint, hearty toasted grain and light apple. Finish is crisp and grassy-woody. Medium body is smooth, tongue-tingly and slightly astringent. Creamy lace left on the glass. poolboy (66), Lafayette, Indiana, USA Feb 27, 2009 Amber with creamy head. Chocolate, spice, and malt. Refreshing and well constructed, but nothing special
