Commercial Description:
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

500ml. solid copper color pours with moderate carbonation and a thin white head. fruity nose is reminiscent of white grape juice. a touch of grain and saaz hops round it out. clean malty grainy body is sweet and short. a little thin but not disappointing.

Draught at Old Brick’s Inn, Jyväskylä. Copper to amber color with creamy head. Sweetish, toasty and toffeish aroma. Very rich malty flavor with toasty, nutty and caramelly notes. Mild bitterness, just enough for a balance. Very good maltiness, good beer with various foods.

This pours a beautiful amber color with a big creamy head. Nice carbonation. The nose is malty and floral. Nice mouthfeel where you can taste the malt but a great balance is maintained throughout. I look forward to this beer every year.

Bottle. Doughy, sweet malt aroma. Hazy, amber with a fluffy off-white head. Nice lace. Very flavorful for only 5.8% ABV. Malty and moderately sweet. I can imagine how good this would be fresh from the tap. I may just have the opportunity to find out next Friday as a local German pub is serving it for their Oktoberfest kick-off. A little sweeter than I prefer, but better a little too much flavor than not enough. And frankly, it’s dead on to style.

Pours an orange tinted golden with a small, but persistent white head. Great sweet roasted malt, tofffee, banana, and a nice roasted nuttiness on the nose. Great full creamy mouthfeel with a good dose of spicing, like maybe nutmeg....or......hell I don’t know, but it is pleasant nonetheless.. Nice light floral hoppiness finishes out the palate carrying a light dose of heat. Very nice and exactly what I would expect from Ayinger.

Sample at Chef Paul’s, thanks Marci. Draft. The lighter orange color is deceptive- I thought it would be light on flavor, but what a great, unique taste this beer had. There was an underlying nutmeg / spice flavor- not like some kind of Holiday Ale- but quite subtle. Best Oktoberfest I’ve had.

Pours a deep copper with a massive white head that lasts a good time The nose is of fresh german malt with no hint of hop bitterness. This is very well rounded, but I was hoping for a little more sweetness. It almost has a little dryness to it. The carbonation is a little bit more than I was expecting, but they pretty much got this one right. This is extremely clean and refreshin with a very small bit of bitterness at the end.

500ml bottle. pours out a clear golden-auburn with white head. nose is really doughy with nuts. flavor is again really bready, nutty, and semi-sweet caramel. watery mouth feel and clean finish. carbonation is smooth. very bready, clean, tasty, and refreshing.
