dyetube (397), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 12, 2007 This beer pours a deep golden amber with a medium white head that dissipates quickly leaving no lacing on the sides. This is your typical oktoberfest. There beer smells like your typical lager beer but the flavor is definitely better than that. Although I’m not a big fan of lagers or the oktoberfest berrs this is not that bad of a beer. I’m not sure i’d go out of my way to buy it but I might buy another just the same. Cheers lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 10, 2007 Updated: Aug 11, 2007Cloudy amber pour with an offwhite head. Smell of honey, malt, and yeast, with a creamy taste. mouthfeel is bubbly, and somehow almost a gritty aftertaste feel. Something distinct about the taste that I can’t place. Not bad, but not great. Somewhat of a sweet yeasty taste. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Jul 2, 2007 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber with a rich frothy head. Roasted malt and caramel sweetness on the nose. Dry roasted malt and dough-like dryness on the palate. Yeasty dryness dominates over the malt. Slightly watery and not as rich on the palate as the nose would lead me to believe. Decent, though. Finishes carbonated and fairly dry. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jun 30, 2007 Strong caramel aroma. Slightly hazy orange color with a small tan head. Sweet malt taste with a mild yeast finish. creamy palate in the beginning. Ending mildly carbonated. Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador Jun 23, 2007 Thanks to beer buddy ghawener. Drank it awhile ago, and its hard for me to remember therefore nothing memorable. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 21, 2007 Big malt aroma with some spicy hop notes, dry pumpkin, pale fruits and pie crust. The body is a murky brown/orange and holds a diminishing tan head that starts a thumb thick. Sweet malt fore has a little butterscotch candy, sweetbreads, honey brushed dough and buttery sweet potatoes. Very nice and easy drinking. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 18, 2007 500ml bottle. Pours a very dark amber body with a huge, fluffy light tan head. German beer never fails to impress in the appearance department. It just looks like a beer should. On the nose I get spicy hops, sweet malt notes, biscuit dough, grapefruit, lemon zest and floral notes. Fore is lightly astringent, with the hops and bready notes dominating. Back of the tongue brings more malt sweetness into play, as well as the citrus hints. Palate is creamy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet bread dough and hops, medium length and refreshing. Great beer. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 10, 2007 Appearance: Served in an Ayinger glass, this beer pours a deep golden body with a frothy, off-white head. Very active bubbles.
Smell: Light bready, toffee-scented aroma. Maybe some apples, too.
Taste: Whoa, well, the malts are fairly played down flavor-wise. What remains is a restrained doughy flavor with a floral hoppiness. Noticeably more musty than other Oktoberfests.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Low carbonation - nearly flat. Slight alcohol warming comes through in the finish.
Drinkability: Not nearly as moving or stirring as some other Oktoberfests available.
