Commercial Description:
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Drank with Ramenen. Bottle: 99% by style? Must be an Oktoberfest/Märzen thing; tastes like malzbier, very sweet, sugary. I guess this is not my type of beer.

I keep looking for a unlikable beer made by this excellent brewery and, fortunaltely for me, I haven’t found it yet. I can’t descibe it better than the commerical description, ’lightly sweet with a malty nose, balanced with floral hops and soft dryness’.. well done.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass, amber with a medium beige head. The aroma was light and dominated by malt. The taste was smooth and dominated by roasted malt with a touch of caramel. Very smooth. Nice beer for this style.

50 cl bottle, Fargo. Cloudy deep orange colour, Thick frothy head. Equal parts malt, citrus and floral aroma. Sweet smooth malt taste, long finish that lingers at the back of the throat. Very nice.

Poured from a 500ml bottle. Appearence was a slightly cloudy light orange. A nice 2 finger creamy white head upon the pour which slowly faded to a thin layer of head on top. Slight lacing. Smell was of sweet malts with a little doughiness showing itself at the backend. Smells appetizing. A little faint though. Taste was similiar to the smell. Sweet malt mostly and just a little bit of bread at the end as well. Taste is good. Coats the mouth with a medium body.

Beautiful reddish brown, with medium carbonation and a long lasting ample creamy head. Aromas of butterscotch, pumpkin bread, and hot apple cider. Crispy, hoppy, with a sweet and spicy finish.

(Bottle) Pours a dark amber color with a nice, lasting white head. Sweet malts dominate this one, with some bread and toffee in the taste. A good, and highly drinkable beer, but not overly complex.
