Commercial Description:
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Bottle 48F Lager Glass. Nice copper malt smells, a touch of hops, the malt smells very nice. Very bright orange color, with a frothy head looks very good. Good rich sweetness, nothing to strong similar to light brown sugar. Good royal hops characters, well balanaced very well balanced, very nicely done. Really very tasty. Great palate balance of carbonation and rich full feel. I really like this one, probably should be the definition of an oktoberfest, is Ayinger not one of the best breweries in the world? Do they make a bad beer? I haven’t tried a bad one yet.

Bottle: Nice orange color with a huge white head. Taste is malty with some hops kick. Floral hop tones, sweet malt, a bit of yeast, and spice tones make this a nice Okto brew. I enjoyed this one very much!

Dark orange pour with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma is spicy. The aroma is reminiscent of fall spices. Flavor is spicy and malty. Actually slightly yeasty. tastey.

500 ml bottle. Deep orange-amber beer. Gorgeous deep malty aroma, bread, light caramel and kettle caramelized/decocted richness. Herbal/spicy hop flavour over a soft toastiness. Flavour is well-balanced and very clean with sweet bready malts and softly spicy noble hops perfectly mingling. Perfectly quaffable... I could drink about a dozen of these.

500ml bottle. Aroma: Grainy and sweet maltiness. A slight metallic aroma. Appearance: Deep orange in color and slightly hazed. Off-white head was full and frothy. Nice lacing. Flavor: Medium malt sweetness up front. Toasted malt with a slight nutiness. Medium dry finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: A good, traditional representative of the style. Very drinkable.

Bottle on 10/20/06. Pours a clear amber/gold with a huge rocky head leaving excellent lace. Grain and caramel malt aroma. Sweet toffee dominates the flavor, but some light bittering hops bring the sweetness into balance. Medium body without stickiness, rather surprising considering the fact that it is predominantly sweet. A fine example of the style.

Medium shiny creamy white head; brown hazy body with carbonation. Sweet malty aroma with notes of straw and grass. Strong, earthy malt and straw taste with toffeeish notes and a dry, hoppy background. Powerful, yet light and drinkable. Good! (0.5l on tap.)
