tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Sep 10, 2006 Bottle. Pours a somewhat light copper with a big, rocky, offwhite head. The aroma is grainy with some lemon and cookiedough. It has a deeply grainy flavor with quite a bit of caramel, some hints of orange, and after a while a molasses-like sweetness. It’s mostly kind of sweet, but the finish has some woody and smoky tones. Not bad. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Sep 10, 2006 Clear light amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet dark malt aroma with a touch of spice. Very sweet light caramel and dark malt flavor. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Sep 1, 2006 On tap @ WL Beford Hts., 16 oz tapered mug: Very cloudy light amber w/ a lasting, well lacing, off white head. Aromas of bready malts, raisiny fruits from mix of malts and fermentation, clean of other off aromas. Well balanced overall, clean, lightly sweet finish, with toasty malt flavor throughout lasting into the aftertaste. Low carbonation level, smooth medium body. Not my favorite O fest, but likeable enough! antzman (313), Clarksville, Indiana, USA Aug 30, 2006 Bottle Pours a caramel tan with a off-white head. The aroma is of bready malts with a hint of sweetness. The flavor is very clean. The malts of course come through strongly, but are not overbearing. Just a hint of spiciness, but not much. A very mellow Oktoberfest. Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 28, 2006 Copper, clear, with a huge eggshell head. Clean, malty aroma. Very bready, toasty sweet smells, too. Flavor is caramelly and toasty, with notes of dark bread, too. Mutualaid (136), Texas, USA Aug 20, 2006 Pours a rich copper with tall, persistant off-white head. Nutty aroma. Good malty flavor without being unbalanced or too heavy. Smooth finish. Like an amber ale without the hops; not a complex beer but one well suited for its purpose. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Aug 19, 2006 bottle. tastes kind of oxidized. must have been sitting a long time at the store before purchasing. Aroma of slight chocolate as well as malt comes through, also something a bit off. Taste is light chocolate, light toasted malt, sweet caramel, and slightly stale. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Aug 8, 2006 Pours to a orangey body with a white head. Nice lacing.
