pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Sep 28, 2005 Went into this one with high expectations, usually dont’ like malty Oktoberfests, but this one was different. Nice pour of a copper color with a beautiful creamy thick head (maybe nicest I’ve seen in a while). Taste was of malts, caramel and a bit of hops usually not found in this style, Overall an awesome beer and I’d have to say the best of this style I’ve had. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Sep 27, 2005 Bottle. Nice dark yellow/light orange body with a foamy lasting head. Nose is very sweet and reminds me of the smeel of malt extract-not a bad smell. Taste-spice, very woody, sweet malts, medium citric hops, caramel, honey, straw, and toasty. Very slight biterness on the backend that is very nice. A really, really good beer. oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Sep 27, 2005 Bottled. Copper coloured, beige thick creamy huge head. Malts and hops in aroma, along with hay and caramel. Strong flavour of hops and malt. Wellbalanced and pleasant. A bit roast and honey in aftertaste. DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Sep 26, 2005 On tap. Fine hops/malt aroma, orange/ copper, small cream head. Sweet malt flavour, orange, biscuity, some toast. Balanced, sweet, dry and refreshing . Ein Prosit! TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Sep 25, 2005 Updated: Oct 16, 2005Pours reddish-orange with a thin foamy head. Bready aroma of toasted malts with caramel. Distinct lager aroma. Taste is sweet, robust, and quite malty. Medium-bodied with dense carbonation. Finish is lightly sweet, light bitter. Hops play second fiddle in this beer, some more assertive hops would make this incredible. Quite quaffable lager! TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Sep 24, 2005 Bottle. Amber body with splashes of ruby throughout. Tall frothy tan head violently bubbles up then eases to a point of rest leaving a really nice lacing on the glass. Nose is malty and bready with light flowery notes and hops. Taste unfortunately has some metallic notes in it (iron? kind of like tasting blood). Very odd and unappealing which is different for an Ayinger beer. Malt chewiness, light hops and caramel. Otherwise this is pretty good. Body is carbonated but smooth. Finishes with more malt and dark bread notes along with light caraeml, fruit and floral hops. Not too bad! fluids (364), USA Sep 23, 2005 Great Oktoberfish beer. Copperish brown color. A little malt. Mostly grainy and alchohol is low. Has a unique hop signature. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA Sep 23, 2005 Bottle. Deep amber color, very clear, with big offwhite head that faded somewhat quickly. Nose of faint toasty malts, yeast, and copper. Flavor follows suit, with a nice crisp, coppery finish. A bit too carbonated for my tastes-- almost harsh on the tongue. Medium bodied and quite enjoyable. I could definitely pound back big mugs of this stuff.
