Really enjoyable. Golden in color. Little sweet. Well balanced by malt and hops. Not a overpowering beer. If you are a fan of the fall and octoberfest, then get this beer. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 25, 2002 Pours with an abundant white, creamy and rocky foam. Complex aroma of apricot, prune juice, loads of caramel, and copper notes. Medium-full palate. Toffeeish firmness is lacking slightly. Notes of peach, straw, prunes, and perfectly balancing hop tinge. One of the best made Marzens available. PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2002 Very cloudy light amber color with a huge foamy head. Bottle was sedimented? Light caramel and toffee notes in the aroma. Sweet flavor, but restrained a bit, with nice caramelized flavors and some yeastiness. Smooth and just a little flat. Light alcohol warming in the finish. Bottle was of unknown age, possibly detracting from the flavor. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Pour copper with a nice sized off white head. Aroma is bready toffee and caramel malt. It is rich, but not as sweet as most oktoberfests. Medium / full body with a decent amount of carbonation. Starts with toffee and caramel, rich biscuity like malt. The finish has some hoops adding spice. There is a linger mix of toffee and spice. This is an excellent example of the Marzen style. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
