| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 20, 2005 500ml bottle. Golden Amber hue. Corn, butter and slight bananas in the nose. Also get a nice mild cinnamon and caramel aroma from the malts. Three fingers of off-white head. Sweet grainy, malt flavor. Definitely malt driven, and the hops are mild and smooth with a lingering tingling sensation on the tongue. This beer is at least medium bodied, but the caramel malt smoothness makes it very quaffable in the coming chill of Autumn. Another delicious brew from Ayinger, and the best Oktoberfest of the year, thus far. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Apple fruit, toasty malt, and some oxidation in the aroma. Light toasty malt, green grape skin, red apple, and a suprisingly chocolately finish. Tasty but it seems a bit stale. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA

It has that traditional flavor, but I wasn't feeling how sweet it was. Maybe a little more hops and a little less sweet would do it. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Bottle. Doughy, sweet malt aroma. Hazy, amber with a fluffy off-white head. Nice lace. Very flavorful for only 5.8% ABV. Malty and moderately sweet. I can imagine how good this would be fresh from the tap. I may just have the opportunity to find out next Friday as a local German pub is serving it for their Oktoberfest kick-off. A little sweeter than I prefer, but better a little too much flavor than not enough. And frankly, it’s dead on to style. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2006 Bottle: Nice orange color with a huge white head. Taste is malty with some hops kick. Floral hop tones, sweet malt, a bit of yeast, and spice tones make this a nice Okto brew. I enjoyed this one very much! blipp (1716), Newark, New Jersey, USA
