Commercial Description:
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

2007 Botle from sam’s. Pours a clear orange with a little white head. Nose is heavy on the malts--you can really smell the grains. Flavor is bready with some caramel and more malts. A lot less sweet than most american marzens. I guess this on par for the style but I dont really like it.

Pours reddish-orange with a thin foamy head. Bready aroma of toasted malts with caramel. Distinct lager aroma. Taste is sweet, robust, and quite malty. Medium-bodied with dense carbonation. Finish is lightly sweet, light bitter. Hops play second fiddle in this beer, some more assertive hops would make this incredible. Quite quaffable lager!

PLeasent enough, but would love to try it very fresh or on draught, ’cause I get the feeling that something is missing.

I liked paulaner oktoberfest better, but this one is good too, hopped well, copper color, nice drink. Very easy drinking for the style. Caramel, slight dark fruit flavor. I’d drink again.

Pretty average marzen style beer, light brownish in color, huge bubbly white head, lacked a little bit of the malty tones that I usually get from marzens, decent balance, a little on the disappointing side

Bottle. Pours a coppery gold with a large head and aromas of honey bread, grain dust, floral malts and a bit of spice. Flaor is a great mix of the above elements... starts out with honey like sweetness, ends with dusty malt. Bring on October!!!

(Draught at Hilpeä Hauki on 2008-09-12) Copper red, Clear. Medium sized quickly disappearing white head. Quite full bodied palate with medium carbonation. Malts, salty liquorice, bitterness and sweetness in taste.

Bottle. Pours a clear light orange with a thick white head. Aroma of stale wheat, some sweet malt. Flavor of lots of that stale wheat yeast, which I’m not really a fan of, and some light fruits (apple, pear). Too bland. Not really my style but in my opinion, this isn’t one of the better examples of it.
