Some salty pungency on the nose and a wisp of garlic. Pears and apples in a caramel soak. Tinny flavor with the disposition of thin maple syrup. The subtle presence of toasted honey malt is chewy enough to leave a firm smack of its sweetness, which lasts a while. Crisp fruit flavors and hushed floral tones provide accent. Watery texture with a sharp carbonation bite; it could stand for more density. Fitting; a refreshing autumn quaffer. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Flavor follows along with a light hop character. Very nicely sweet grains and overall character. LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA

This is like the third time in as many weeks I’ve thought I had a new beer only to discover otherwise. Good thing I tried it again, I liked it a lot more this time around, perhaps it’s the season? The taste of Autumn is crisp and evident in this beer. The leafy malt profile is very satisfying and this is perhaps the best Oktoberfest I’ve had so far. ORIGINAL RATING 7/12/02: 3.2/5.0 Well, it had a nice head, but it doesn’t come close to their Celebrator or their Ur-Weiss. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

Aroma is thick and rich. Taste is a lot like most October Fests. Body is medium / heavy and goes down thick. Finish is a sweet malt flavor. ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Pours a beautiful orange amber color with a nice fluffy medium sized head. (quite large for a marzen) is a bit limony and sweet and of caramel. also many some notes of nutes and toffee. Mouthfeel is pretty mouthcoating and very sweet. The alcohol content while it is moderate is pretty will hidden and its only appearence is in the aftertaste which has a bit of an acidic bite. Great marzen nonetheless. I might add this beer probably is even better when fresh. jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA

This is a good marzen, not as malty as some other Oktoberfests, but overall rather good. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
