Commercial Description:
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Bottle. Poured amber in color with a creamy, off-white head that settle to a thin cover and left light lacing. The aroma was of caramel, spices, and a light roast. The flavor found chocolate and spices. Light body with a malty aftertaste. Nicely enjoyable.

(Bottle) Pours a dark amber color with a nice, lasting white head. Sweet malts dominate this one, with some bread and toffee in the taste. A good, and highly drinkable beer, but not overly complex.

Bottle. Hazy amber body with a large, frothy, off-white head, mostly lasting. The aroma is mostly malty with strong notes of sweet caramel and lighter notes of toasted bread, flowers and peach. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body with a creamy texture and lively carbonation. The taste starts malty sweet, crisp, clean and turns nicely bitter. Nice balance. Excellent Oktobefest.

Tap at St Urhos, Helsinki. Looks like a thick mead. Thick white foam. Aroma of some thick, dark Finnish bread I can’t quite place. Taste of dark malt, trickled sugar and a bit sour aftertaste. Not really my cup of.. .er... beer.

nice orange color, fluffy head, a bit of lacing. aroma of wet musty malt, also sweet malt. flavor has some roasted grain, honey sweetness, creaminess. full bodied, oily mouth feel, dry finish. a good oktoberfest, but i am beginning to get a bit oktoberfested out this season.

My last oktoberfest of the season, and what a way to end it! Poured a murky amber/orange with a thin off-white head. Great malty oktoberfest aroma. Taste is malt, malt, with some malt on the side. The depth of the malt flavor almost reminds me of a doppelbock or an eisbock. Flavor and aroma are overall much more pronounced in this oktoberfest than in others. Heavier than a lot of other oktoberfests, but a great contribution to the oktoberfest arena from Ayinger. I still think Avery the Kaiser is the best oktoberfest I’ve had, but this is definitely the best "classic" oktoberfest I’ve enjoyed this season.

(500 ml bottle, neat bottle cap!) Pours a medium cloudy amber-orange, nice biscuit head, good lacing. Rich malty aroma, also swear I can smell the inside of a pumpkin! Flavor is oh so rich and malty with nice halo of smokiness. Excellent Marzen.

Oct. 2005 - Beer poured golden brown with a decent head. Decent lacing. Decent flavor. Aroma was slightly less than decent (a little skunky smelling, to be honest). The mouthfeel on this was nice and smooth and the taste was similar...buttery. I was expecting more sweet malty goodness and more spiciness from the maker of Celebrator. Disappointing.
