Cloudy orange color with a white head. Kind of hoppy and not really what I expected. Decent beer. Tasted on draft 9/22/03 Outstanding Oktoberfest/Marzen beer. Very malty and sweet, but finishing dry at the end. The finish makes you want more and more, just as I did of this wonderful beer. Outstanding. Now to find a fresh bottle to re-rate this again. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2004 Really a nice Oktober fest. Brilliant amber color, poured without much head at Resi’s in Chicago. A nice floral character, maybe a bit of toastiness in the body and somewhat dry--which is a good thing. Drinks really smooth enough that the extra point-eight percent alcohol catches up with you. A delight. obguthr (1067), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Oct 28, 2009 Weak corn aroma. Clear amber, thin white head. Cheap malt flavor with a marigold finish. A poor showing for an authentic German Octoberfest. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

This was a fresh batch, that much is certain. Poured out a slightly golden shade of yellow. Had a fluffy white head for awhile, but slowly faded to a solid lacing along the edges of the glass. Aromas of fresh malts, slight hops aroma as well. Tasted really good. Refreshing, and crisp. Left a sweet aftertaste. One of the best Octoberfest beers I've had. Too bad it set me back $3.15 each. I'd like to afford a case of this stuff. Tasted especially good after packing a truck for moving for 3 hours. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
