Commercial Description:
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

One of the few beers I was able to rate at my own 2nd annual ides of March beer tasting (3-18-06). Pours light orange and hazy. Light white head. Malty caramel with biscuit aroma. Lightly sweet malt in the taste as well as well balanced hops. More on the malty side but still well balanced with hops making for a very enjoyable beverage. Medium soft - creamy body. As good a lager as I’ve had.

Draught at Mallaskukko. Copper, firm white head. Toasty, sweet malty aroma, dried fruits and grassy hops. Caramel malty, toasty flavor, buttery nuttiness and herbal hops in the finish. A bit over carbonated palate. Nicely chewy märzen, just a hint more hops and it’s there.

Pours a clear straw yellow color with a soapy white head. Sweet aroma with floral notes and some pils. Flavor is sweet-floral with a slight bitter ending. Smooth, creany refreshing. Nice beer!

Had on draft at smokin joes pittsburgh. Poured a nice medium brown color with a perfect amount of froathy tan head. Aroma is nutty and caramel with slight piney hop. Flavor is a bit nutty and doughy mixed with caramel and lactose. Overall, enjoyable.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of toasted malts, toffee, caramel, spices, and floral hops. Flavor starts off with the toasted malts, toffee, and caramel. Finishes with a slight bitterness from the floral hops. Has a somewhat decent, long lasting finish. Very good Oktoberfest.

Light amber body with healthy rising carbonation and a pretty white head, citrus, freshly baked bread and mild spice in the nose. Quite hoppy for the style, with a distinct moderate bitterness throughout; bready flavors linger. RERATE: Not so assertively hoppy as it warms, with floral notes replacing the bitterness.

Amber-orange pour with a frothy head. Bread, orange, and malt in the nose. Light mouthfeel with a lot of flavor. Buttery is a good description, with a nice hop profile that balances the sweet malt character. Delicious.
