The aroma gives you the sensation of a warm blanket, full of gently roasted malts. The taste is predominately wheat and fall gourds such as butternut squash. The finish is smooth making this one of the best Oktoberfest’s out there. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

The flavor is classic Maerzen--good caramel, balanced sweetness with roasted dryness for definition. Maybe not as much of the darker amber malts as in Spaten, but the finish is much longer. This is actually more comparable to some American Octoberfests (Victory and Dominion) rather than the richer or wortier Spaten and Paulaner. ghawener (964), San Salvador, El Salvador

Must be an Oktoberfest/Märzen thing; tastes like malzbier, very sweet, sugary. I guess this is not my type of beer. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Clear copper color with a small off white head that leaves some lacing in my glass. Sweet bready, grainy aromas, light grainy, nutty and caramel flavors, finishes clean and dry. Light to medium bodied with a crisp and carbonated mouthfeel, a well done Oktoberfest, I look forward to this every year. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA

Dark and malty, but not too much of either. Carbonation is just right. I think this brewery makes textbook examples of good German beer. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2008 (Bottle). Semi-sweet bready malt aroma. Golden color with medium head. Flavor is malty and pleasantly semi-sweet, with hops also evident. Mild but lasting finish. Nice quality brew, but perhaps just a bit over-rated. biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA

This is awesome and delicious. I have conquered this beer style at long last. Ayinger does it right. JK54B (951), Helsinki, Finland
