Commercial Description:
Ayinger Oktober Fest Märzen has a deep golden color tinted with amber. It is lightly sweet with a malty nose balanced with floral hops. Its medium to big body and alcohol is not overpowering. The soft dryness comes from long maturation.

Brewed in Germany... Pours a golden amber color with a super thin white head and lots of carbonation. Aroma of bread, malts, flowers and caramel. Taste of bread, honey, caramel and flowers. Mouthfeel in medium in body with a slight dry sweet finish. This beer is very pleasant to drink and would be wonderful at your local O-Fest. :)

Good beer, but not the best Oktoberfest ever, Weak, but very good flavor. I wish it was a stronger flavor.

On tap at Mahars. Poured a beautiful orange with a great white head. Aroma was spicy sweet. Flavor extremely balanced and sweet, with a spicy taste and a thick mouthfeel, so very good.

Pours orange with white head - surprisingly cloudy for a German lager. Aroma is largely malts (very doughy) - lots of caramel, hints of fruit (raisins, dried apricots). The beer tastes quite malty, with a very balanced level of hop bitterness. It starts sweet on the tonge with lots of malts and caramel and has a very bubbly mouthfeel. The beer finishes sweet with some hop bitterness. A fine example of the style.

Pours red-copper with a good sized light beige head that lasts a long time and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is lots of caramel, toasty, sweet and grainy malts. Hops are present but merely provide a grassy, leafy backdrop to the spectacular malt nose. Flavor is basically a repeat of the nose, with the addition of some nice toffee, buttery and nutty malt notes takeing over quite a bit for the grassy hops. Finish is a pleasant continuation off the toffee, and grain malts, with some leafy and a tiny bit of bitter hops. Body is medium, a little sticky, and a little over carbonated. Overall pretty good, probably one of the best marzens or oktoberfests, including viennas, that I have had.

500ml bottle. Pours a bright pumpkin orange with a nice thick foamy white cap that leaves sudsy lacing. Aroma is very sweet, malty, some plastic, and a little bit of alcohol. I can’t describe exactly why but I don’t really like the aroma. The plastic or the alcohol is distracting. It smells a little like a light Barleywine. Flavor is smooth and does not have any of the negative effects of the aroma. Crisp, somewhat dry. A pretty quick finish with just a touch of residual sweetness. This is fine but does not stick out as a great Octoberfest to me

500mL bottle. Label is slightly different than that in the picture. A bad-ass bottle cap that features a picture of people boozing it up. A hazy copper pour with a few floaties and a smallish off-white head that leaves some lace. Sweet, caramel and malty aroma. Flavor is all sweet, caramelly and toffee maltiness. There’s actually a slight presence of alcohol which is surprising considering the low ABV. Still, it’s easy to drink and is a good transition from the light summer beers to the heartier winter ones.

The best Oktoberfest I have had to date. Pours golden with a creamy white head. Aroma had a great maltiness with caramel malts, raisin, and citrus. The raisin and caramel worked great in the taste. There was some butterscotch as well. The finish was really malty. Really nice Oktoberfest. Re-rate- I didn’t enjoy the new batch as much. It had a lime taste I didn’t like.
