Light mouthfeel up front, finishes soft and creamy; light carbonation ... watery at times. Malts were lightly sweet, bready and slightly chalky. Hops were light, herbal and slightly bitter. Well made, but very mild in many ways. maniac (2767), Richmond, Virginia, USA

This was the hoppiest Bavarian beer I have tried to date and extremely pleasant because of it. Reddish in color, which is unique to the array of Bavarian beers too. Really a splendid festbier. Alcohol is undetectable in the taste or palate but permeates your body with pleasure. I’m so grateful I was at the brewery outlet in Munich during fest time. michael-pollack (2751), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Tastes of malts, bitter hops, oak leaves, honey, nuts, grains, rye, and caramel. Light to medium body. Slightly thin, slightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Malty, lightly bitter, lightly dry finish. Nuffield (2749), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 11, 2002 Deep color, hazy but not to the extreme. Bold aroma, spicy, hints of yeast. Interesting layers of flavor, malty and sweet, although a moment or two of sickly sweetness. Mild carbonation--it lost its large head rather quickly and, to my palate, was a bit flat very soon in. Still, very good. Suttree (2748), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2003 A nicely toasted aroma, with a big pour that is a bit of a golden - amber, that has a big building white head. Very smooth, with a nice malty character, not unique by any means, but very easy to drink. All of the ayingers have a bit of that same taste, that bite of spiciness in the finish, this was not any different. IrishBoy (2727), Bakersfield, California, USA
