Quite hoppy for the style, with a distinct moderate bitterness throughout; bready flavors linger. RERATE: Not so assertively hoppy as it warms, with floral notes replacing the bitterness. Aroma of soft and sweet nutty flavored malt and ample spiced hops. Quite enticing. Flavor is right away, moderately malty, brown bread, honey, touch of toffee and has a brilliant but short-lived crisp, clean spicy hops finish. Not a muddled note in this beer. It gets in your mouth does its thing, and clears out. Very even texture, light carbonation. I left this in the sun by accident and came back and finished off half the bottle at about 70 degrees and it was still delightful. No thinning or wateriness in here either. Quite spicy; no real daring flavors but well-made and delicious. cAPSLOCK (154), Dallas, Texas, USA

Aroma is bready, on the toast side. This is much rounder than most beers in the style. Sweet malts, present hops, nice finish... I could easily gulp this like water. It is easy to drink. Even though I find this an unusual Oktoberest I still can see myself drinking it with a slice of pumpkin pie. morty99 (371), Maryland, USA

Pleasent melding of hop and malt with neither really overpowering the other. Sweet, earthy, dry taste with a clean crisp finish. A very good Marzen! mixamatt (427), San Francisco, California, USA

Nose had a bit of a nutty quality along with the malts. Slightly sweet taste of toffee. Smooth, pleasant medium-bodied mouthfeel. Reid (1092), Salem, Oregon, USA

Clear amber lager, with a large eggshell white head, that its thick and luxuriant. Nice carbonation strings.
Great creamy toffee malt aromas, slightly toasty.
Malty semi-sweet caramel start, longer semi-bitter finish and a slight hint of hops in the after taste
Very nice palate, just rolls over the tongue , but is not in the least boring. But makes for a drinkable brew indeed. Enormo (25), Davenport, Iowa, USA

Although this particular brewery is not represented at the fest, it is the best representation of the beer they serve and it brings back a lot of great memories of when I was there.
