Tastes is bright with malts, some dried fruits and mild hops. The palet stays with you without overpowering but leaving wanting another sip. A nice beer to start a the fall season or a good evening by an outside fire. bblack99 (219), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Large bottle, just over a pint. Pours a clear orangey gold with a medium-sized fluffy white head. Decent lacing as well.
Smells of caramel sweetness and yeast, with a nice crisp white grape twist. The flavor is simple and great, with more of that caramel malt sweetness and the earthy goodness of the yeast and a bit of spice. White wine dryness and a slightly bitter finish.
Moderately carbonated to help cut through the creamy moderate thickness of the brew. Very little alcohol apparent, perfect for an all-day session in Munich. mcsquint (93), , Missouri, USA

Nice golden amber color. 1-2 finger white head diminishing to none. Light lacing. Faint malty aroma. Medium body. Lightly sweet flavor that lasts to the finish. Moderate carbonation. Very drinkable. An excellent example of this style. RHeastings (437), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Enjoyed via 16.9oz bottle. Pours a medium to deep gold. Nose of Munich malt, and a touch of fresh-baked German dark bread. Smooth and balanced on the palate; malt up front with just a touch of balancing hops. Initial hop bitterness and flavor may be a little higher, as this example is nearly one year old. Finishes clean, just a touch flowery, and just barely on the sweet side of neutral. The quintessential German Oktoberfest beer.
