Oct 10, 2001 Big malt presence is evident in the nose along with more subtle fruity aromas. This translates into a great toasty malt flavor with minimal bitterness, some grape notes and yeastiness in the background. Great amber color with huge frothy off-white head that stuck around for almost half the beer. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this beer is the full malty palate.

Sep 29, 2003 Amber colored with a moderate and long lasting head. The aroma was malty, a little yeasty and spicy. Fresh and zesty mouthfeel, a lightly toasted malt flavor with a faint hoppy note and touch of orange citrus. The finish was mild and slightly sweet. Ayinger!

Sep 21, 2003 A clear amber body with a white, fully lacing head. The is full of sweet malty goodness. Whole grains, doughy bread, lightly toasted character. Full and smooth in the mouth. Slightly crisp finish, the hops provide light bitterness and a spicy tingle. This was one tasty Marzen and a great beer for one of the first days of fall.
