Aroma is moderately malty and smells of sugary cereal and dough with hints of honey. Initial flavor is moderately sweet and finishes less sweet with medium bitterness. Lively carbonation, with a light and airy finish. I started October with a great Oktoberfest! BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2001 Reddish coppery hue with light haze and carbonation. Pour is initially lively resulting in a dense rocky and enduring foam. Nose is toasted malt with a slight cookie aroma, mild grain and pepper. A spritzy mouthfeel is light to medium bodied making for a refreshing drink. Tasting shows more of the biscuity toasted malt, a grainy middle, rounding out with a little sourness and brief hints of dryness. I also picked up a few light metallic notes, and should add that the beer seems to find increased depths of fruitiness with food.
Probably my favorite Oktoberfest brew this year.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 29, 2002 Damn near prototypical Festbier. Light, sweet bready/malty flavor, with a very dry finish. The definite Saaz hop kick separates it a bit from other Festbier, but is a welcome addition. wheatbeerboy (100), Addison, Illinois, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 13, 2002 Nice golden color with a big frothy head that lasts. Rich malty aroma that smells like a beer is supposed to. The taste is slightly hoppy, slightly malty, with a hint of fruitiensess that I normaly am not a big fan of, but works well here. You can taste a little of that 5.8% in the finsih, but its not at all overpowering. Overall a very good beer, I intend to buy it again, and soon. Hopistotle420 (1178), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

Sweet at fisrt, excellant mouthfeel, medium to full bodied. Big malts are spectacular. Lingering yeast, and sour finish. Awesome octoberfest. I am a firm believer this is one of the best.
