Nice malty sweetness that finishes a little hoppy. The best Oktoberfest style beer I have had. HomeBrewHawk (279), De Soto, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2009 500ml bottle served in a shaker pint. Pours a clear gold with a little amber tint. About a finger of white head. Malty aroma with some noble hops. You get that good malt complexity that only seems to come from Germany. A bit of malt sweetness. Crisp and clean with a fair amount of noble hop bitterness in the finish. On the lighter side of medium bodied. Great rendition of the style. Dacrza (253), Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Situation: PSU heading toward a 3-0 start--time to prematurely celebrate...
Glassware: Schneider Edel Weisse....
Appearance: clear, dark copper body with subtle, steady effervescence; white head flattens quickly, which is surprising...
Aroma: fragrant malts mean business--but the balance of hops forms a welcoming pro-drinking atmosphere with toffee and caramel...
Palate: medium-bodied, throaty lager that engages the mouth completely; pleasantly substantial...
Taste: sweet but reserved, malty but with enough bite to have a hops reminder; a bit more complex than other fests I’ve had...
Overall: a classic revisited--sweet, pleasant pairing with the Saturday afternoon...satisfyingly balanced...

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 12, 2009 bottle. hazy orange pour with a sturdy off-white head and sudsy stick. aroma is light hints of sweet malts and cookies. slightly slick medium bodied. sweet bready taste with caramel, apricot, light pumpkin spices and mild hops. dry finish. a little sweet for my tastes, but a really well constructed brew. camist (3), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 11, 2009 One of the best oktoberfest beers. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Pours a dark golden yellow. Crystal clear with a thin, snow white head. Light, fruity aroma. Bread and sweet malt. Flavors of honey and sweet malt. Horehound ending that a rare handful of excellent marzens possess. Lighter on the palate but fuller then most marzen styles. Prickly carbonation. Probably the best marzen I’ve ever had. liinis (721), Helsinki, Finland
