Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

Hazy and dark peach-coloured beer with a medium head. The scent is filled with wheat and delicious fruit. The taste’s really wheaty too, with some banana in there. The mouthfeel is a bit too carbonated.

High carbonated beer. Cloudy darker golden body with a huge cream head. Smell and taste is very yeasty and citrusy. I got some wheat and banana but mostly citrus. Not sure if this beer is as good as it’s been rated. I will have to rerate eventually.

Bottle; orangey brown pour. Great aroma. Taste of mild fruit and banana notes, with spice The body is good but thought it would be a little fuller bodied. A good dark wheat beer

sample from the bottle at The 2009 Great Decatur Beer Festival on 10/17/09... pours a cloudy golden with a white head... some sweet yeast and light citrus notes on the nose... banana and light spice over the body... nice clean finish - one of the better wheat beers I’ve had...

banana and citrus on the nose with a hint of alcohol. white foamy head barely hangs on. Cloudy amber pour. Absolutely delicious. bread, banana and spice notes. No alcohol taste to speak of. (It is only 5.8). Smooth mouth feel. great fruity notes linger on the palate.

A delicious banana, clove wheat beer. The beer is a shade of burnt orange with a lot of haze and a creamy head. Aroma is mostly banana with good wheat spice. Flavor is same with citric note. Feel is properly well-carbonated. This is a very good wheat beer and one of the few that I would put up with Weihenstephan’s lineup.

poured hazy orange with a moderate foamy white head. Lots of visible bubbles in the beer. Aroma is banana, clove, lemon, and yeast. Flavor is a bit sour and fruity, with bready malts and spice on the finish. Very spritzy light mouthfeel. Tasty.

Bottle. A sweet smell, strong aroma of bananas and some yeast and champagne. The white creamy head is medium large and has a long duration. The body is dark orange, lively and cloudy. The taste is a mixture of light bitter and sour, rather short. The body is light, creamy and with a lively carbonation. A good solid Weizen.
