| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2008 .5l bottle, builds a decent head, aroma is rich ripe banana, mild spiciness. Taste is again banana, wheat cracker, sweet maltiness, some drying hop bitterness, slight bit of carnival candy. Super delicious beer, I really like their yeast, best yeast characteristics of all the german weizens IMHO. They used to close their bottles with a cap printed with a bucholic country picnic scene, I liked those, it added to the impression of this beer’s origin- luckily what’s inside hasn’t changed at all. Top shelf brew. Jblauvs (544), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2008 pours a murky brown with minimal head. aroma is very spicy, with some figs and dark fruit intermingled. Nice flavor, spice remains as the dominant aspect, along with heavy yeast notes. mouthfeel is a bit watery, but a very nice beer overall. strimpf (2), Florida, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 25, 2008 Poured cloudy amber with a thick head that was unremarkable. The nose was earthy with a very mild but fizzy mouthfeel. The start was dominated by the fizziness but the finish was smoothe with a slight sour twist. I wouldn’t describe it as citrus but it is not far off and very faint. The very slightest hint of alcohol at the very end. Pershing (147), Garland, Texas, USA
