Commercial Description:
Our Ayinger Ur-Weisse is an old-fashioned wheat with some fine roasted malt to give it more color and flavor than golden hefe- weisse. It has an immense crown of lovely foam held proudly above a robe of translucent amber. On the palate, malt and yeast predominate, with a delicious balance of fruit and bread-like yeast. The taste is complex, with suggestions of soft fruit, apple, and, in the finish, perhaps, even cloves.

It pours a cloudy golden colour, with a very large heat that quickly dissapates. the aroma is sweet with bananna, pear and apples. One of the sweeter dunkels ive had, it does look like the water from a river not too far from where I live. it has a very full mouthfeel.

Light brownish color, modest head. Wheat in the nose, along with some tobacco (?). Big mouthfeel - I like this.

50cl bottle. Cloudy brown with a big head. Chocolate chip banana-bread aroma. The flavor has the typical banana and spicy citrus, with a pronounced brown-sugar sweetness and a bit of chocolate. Medium, creamy body with ample carbonation. When in the mood, this hits the spot quite well.

Ur-weisse has a gorgeous hazy copper color with a huge abundant off white head. It has an attractive aroma of banana, sweet malts and spice. The aroma leads you to a full body of caramel malts rapped around fruity yeast and light spices that finishes slowly. This is a very flavorful dunkelweizen and one of my favorite summertime treats.
